Safety Measures
At Premier Family Dentistry of Alabaster, the health and safety of our patients and team are our highest priority. We strictly adhere to the infection control standards established by the American Dental Association®, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), OSHA and Alabama Department of Public Health.
We take our responsibility in keeping our office clean and safe very seriously. Some of the measures we take to protect you and your family include:
Before You Arrive
Our treatment areas are thoroughly disinfected and sanitized after each patient and at the beginning and end of the day.
Common areas (reception area, front desk and restrooms) are cleaned and sanitized throughout the day.
All dental instruments are heat sterilized using a dental autoclave, and our sterilization process is verified by third party testing.
During Your Treatment
In addition to sterile instruments, we use disposable plastic and paper products that are discarded after your appointment. Dental materials are single dose or are dispensed into sterile containers to prevent cross-contamination. Dental equipment that cannot be sterilized is covered with plastic barriers during treatment and properly sanitized at the end of the appointment.
We wear disposable PPE/personal protective equipment (gloves, gowns and masks) throughout your appointment and thoroughly wash our hands before putting on PPE or taking it off. Our team members wear safety glasses during treatment; we will ask that you wear safety eyewear during any treatment that generates aerosol.
After Your Appointment
After we have escorted you to the front desk for check-out, the treatment area is readied for the next patient. All disposable items are discarded, hard surfaces are cleaned and disinfected, and dental instruments are cleaned and sterilized.
COVID-19 Precautions
Please limit the people that you bring to the office to those that have appointments only. If you are a caregiver for a patient, please let us know when you arrive.
We will ask you a few screening questions when you check in for your appointment, please let us know if you are not feeling well.
To help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community, we request that patients and visitors wear a mask when entering our facility. If you do not have a mask, we will be glad to provide one for you.
Our Training
Our team participates in extensive training in infection control procedures and management of equipment used in your care. Dr. Zanthos is a member of the American Dental Association® and Alabama Dental Association; he receives immediate updates whenever there is a need to modify recommended safety or infection control procedures.
We Appreciate Your Trust
Thank you for your understanding regarding our safety precautions. We value our relationship with you and your family and are committed to providing you with excellent care and the utmost in precaution for your safety.
Please do not hesitate to Contact Premier Family Dentistry if you have any questions about our infection control and safety protocols.
